If architectural or design plans are required, we can connect clients with trusted designers, architects, and consultants we have worked with over the years. While we trust these professionals to lead the design process, we believe there is value in involving the builder early so the overall team can work together from the beginning.

Throughout planning, we help review concepts, layouts, and construction details from a practical building and budgeting perspective to help ensure the project aligns with both the client’s vision and intended budget.

Once the plans are ready, we prepare a detailed quote for your project. We work closely with our subcontractors and trades to make sure pricing is accurate and reflects the level of quality expected for your custom home.

Once the initial budget is prepared, we sit down with clients and review the project in detail together. From there, adjustments can be made to selections, finishes, scope, or allowances until the client feels confident moving forward with the project and overall investment.

We manage the building permit process on your behalf to help reduce stress and simplify communication with the municipality.

This includes:

• Submitting permit applications
• Coordinating with municipal departments
• Responding to permit questions or revisions
• Monitoring approval progress

Our team works to keep the permit process moving as efficiently as possible so construction can begin without unnecessary delays.

Once the quote is approved, the contract is signed, and the building permit is in hand, construction begins.

With many larger builders, communication is often handed off to a site supervisor or project manager. At Northwest Construction, clients work directly with Tyler or Paul throughout the build, helping maintain strong communication, accountability, and consistency from start to finish.

Because many of our subcontractors and trades have worked with us for years, we are able to maintain strong coordination, trusted working relationships, and consistent workmanship across our projects.

Material and finish selections are an important part of the custom home building process. We guide homeowners through these decisions using clear allowance budgets and timelines, helping avoid delays and keeping the project aligned with the intended budget.

In many cases, homeowners also work alongside an interior designer or design team during the selections process. We work closely with everyone involved to help bring the overall vision together while keeping the project organized and moving forward smoothly.

We also schedule regular onsite meetings to review progress, upcoming work, and any decisions that need to be made. Monthly cost reviews and detailed cost reports help homeowners understand where the project stands financially throughout construction.

Before move-in, we complete a final walkthrough with you to review the home and identify any deficiencies or touch-ups that need attention. These items are addressed promptly so the finished home meets our standards and your expectations.

When construction is complete, we remain available for questions or support as you settle into your new space.

Completing the home does not mean the relationship ends. We stand behind our work and remain available to address deficiencies, warranty items, questions, and normal settling adjustments after move-in.

We provide scheduled touch-up visits at both the 6-month and 1-year marks to address normal settling adjustments and minor finishing items that may appear over time.

Your new custom home also includes BC-required new home warranty coverage, including protection for:
